Is It Safe to Drive on a Lunar Eclipse?

The November 2022 Lunar Eclipse was  the talk of the town. It was the last total lunar eclipse until 2025, and it happened on Election Day, so it is easy to see why. However, there is a question that we need to answer. Is it safe to drive during an eclipse? We’ll answer it for you!

Technically, it is perfectly safe for you to drive during an eclipse. Whether it is a solar eclipse or a lunar eclipse makes no difference to road safety. However, lunar eclipses are safer than lunar ones to hit the road. The reason is that lighting doesn’t change drastically during a lunar eclipse as during a solar eclipse. However, that doesn’t change the fact that you need to be extra careful if you are going to be driving during the eclipse.

While this eclipse will happen when the roads are mostly empty, there will still be people on the road. People want to observe this natural phenomenon in a place they can fully enjoy. So, the most significant danger to road safety is not the eclipse itself. Pedal Commander has been close to the moon, and we can guarantee it. There won’t be some strange energy to throw you off the road or set your Pedal Commander to Sport+ without you knowing.

The most significant danger will be the other drivers. Some people will pay attention to the moon more than they pay attention to the road and drive in such a way that you will question if they have a driver’s license at all—knowing that it is best to drive with extra caution during the eclipse. Leave plenty of room between you and other cars and drive a little slower to your destination.

If you have a Pedal Commander installed, you have already unleashed the beast in your car, so you don’t have to do some Blood Moon ritual to make your car accelerate quicker. If you don’t, well, we strongly suggest you get one. It will save you the headache of preparing a ritual on such short notice.

Jokes aside, if you want to experience this Blood Moon at a better location, there is nothing to be scared of, especially if you use some common sense and exercise caution.

When Will The Lunar Eclipse Start?

If you live in the West, you will have a better view of the lunar eclipse. According to NASA, the Penumbral eclipse will begin at 3:02 a.m. EST or 12:02 a.m. PST. The partial eclipse will follow at 4:09 a.m EST. or 1:09 a.m. PST. The totality will start at 5:17 a.m. EST or 2:17 a.m. PST. Some eastern states will see the totality end at 6:42 a.m. EST; after that, the moon will be set. However, in western states, it is just 3:42 a.m., so they will have the time to enjoy the partial eclipse and the penumbral eclipse’s endings.
As a final reminder, stay safe and drive extra cautiously if you are going to be driving tonight.
