Unlike the standard M2's 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, the M2 Racing has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from BMW's B48 family. This engine produces 313 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, reminiscent of the original E30 M3's four-cylinder configuration. The engine is paired with a ZF 8HP automatic transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels via a mechanical locking differential.
